M4. Practice: Finalize and Export Your Canva Video

Complete During Live Class

This is a guided, hands-on practice activity that we will complete together during our live class session. You do not need to complete anything ahead of time, and there is no written submission required.

During class, you will review your video, make final edits, check the timing and overall flow, and learn how to export your finished project from Canva using the appropriate settings for your intended use.

Guidelines

Module 4 Interactive Practice Activity

🎬 Final Canva Video Project

Complete the Canva video project you have been developing throughout the course. Your final video should communicate one clear message to a defined audience and demonstrate the editing, audio, design, accessibility, and publishing techniques introduced throughout the four modules.

Your final video should be approximately 60–90 seconds.

Work through each clickable checkpoint below before submitting your final project.

🎞️ Checkpoint 1: Confirm Your Final Video Requirements

Watch your completed video and confirm that it includes each of the following:

At least four video clips, photographs, or visual scenes.
Evidence of trimming.
At least one split or splice edit.
Purposeful sequencing.
At least one B-roll clip, image, graphic, or overlay.
An opening title or hook.
At least one additional text element.
Music, voiceover, or another purposeful audio element.
At least one transition, animation, or visual effect.
Captions when spoken information is necessary to understand the video.
A closing message, end card, or call to action.

Production Check: Each requirement should support the overall message. Avoid adding an effect, graphic, or transition only to satisfy the checklist.

✨ Checkpoint 2: Canva Pro or AI-Assisted Feature

If You Have Canva Pro

Experiment with at least one premium or AI-assisted feature.

Video Background Remover
Highlights
Magic Resize
Brand Kit
Premium media
Premium templates
AI-assisted tools

Decision Check: Only keep the feature if it improves the finished video. Experimenting with a feature and deciding not to use it is still a valid editing decision.

If You Do Not Have Canva Pro

Identify one premium feature you would have used and briefly explain how it could have supported your project.

♿ Checkpoint 3: Review Accessibility

Review your final video specifically for accessibility.

Include captions when spoken information is necessary to understand the video.
Review automatically generated captions for accuracy.
Use readable fonts and sufficient contrast.
Keep on-screen text visible long enough to read comfortably.
Avoid relying only on audio to communicate essential information.
Use transitions, animation, and effects purposefully.

Accessibility Check: Automatically generated captions still require human review. Correct spelling, timing, and readability issues before you export or share the video.

🔍 Checkpoint 4: Complete a Final Quality Review

Play your entire video from beginning to end and review each of the following:

Clip order
Pacing
Audio levels
Caption accuracy
Spelling and grammar
Text readability
Transition consistency
Accessibility
Visual quality
Overall message and purpose

Make One Final Improvement

After reviewing your project, make at least one final revision.

Examples:

Trim a clip to improve pacing.
Lower music beneath a voiceover.
Correct a caption.
Move text to improve readability.
Replace a distracting transition.
Reorder a scene to improve clarity.

Quality Check: Your final review should result in at least one deliberate editing decision.

💭 Checkpoint 5: Complete Your Reflection

Include a short 3–5 sentence reflection with your final submission.

Address all four questions:

Who is the intended audience?
What editing decision improved the video the most?
Which Canva feature was most useful?
What would you change if you had more editing time?

Reflection Starter:

My video is intended for ____________. The editing decision that improved the video most was ____________ because ____________. The Canva feature I found most useful was ____________. If I had more editing time, I would ____________.

📤 Checkpoint 6: Export and Submit

During class, submit your updated project according to your instructor's directions.

You may be asked to submit your updated Canva view link or video file.

If You Submit an MP4

Export the final version of your video.
Confirm that the exported file plays correctly.
Check that audio, captions, transitions, and text appear as expected.

If You Submit a Canva View Link

Use a view-only link.
Test the link before submitting.
Make sure your instructor can open the project without requesting edit access.

Also include:

Write a 3–5 sentence reflection with the final submission.

✅ Checkpoint 7: Final Submission Review

Before selecting Submit Assignment, confirm that:

You included at least four video clips, photographs, or visual scenes.
You demonstrated trimming.
